Happy Birthday Singapore! #SG55

National Day

Every year Singapore celebrates its independence on National Day. The big event is usually a parade, which sees all of its military branches working together, followed by fireworks to end the day. This year's parade is a bit different, because of COVID-19. The parade will be traveling all around the city, instead of being held at the usual Padang (read here if you would like to know more about its historical significance), and the big firework display on Marina Bay is being replaced by many fireworks in the various neighbourhoods. 

Singapore is bringing the National Day celebrations closer to the Singaporean heartland, near people's homes. Similarly, we thought of doing something to celebrate in our homes.

Cake time

We took this occasion as an opportunity to celebrate at home, among our favorite housemates. We found a cake inspired by the Singaporean flag and colors (made by The Butter Studio) and sent one to each of our homes for our members to celebrate together.
